Tour overview

Split is known for its beaches and the fortresslike complex at its center, Diocletian's Palace, erected by the Roman emperor in the 4th century. Once home to thousands, its sprawling remains include more than 200 buildings. Within its white stone walls and under its courtyards and galleries are shops, bars, cafes, cathedrals, hotels and several houses.

  • Discover Diocletian's Palace, Split , Dine at a World Heritage Site in Stari Grad , Visit the Spanjola Fortress, Hvar , Explore a 12th Century Benedictine Monastery in Mljet , Walk Dubrovnik's famous City Walls , Find Marco Polo's birthplace in Korcula Old Town , Catch a famous sunset in Makarska

Enjoy a traditional 3-course lunch onboard as we depart Split Harbour at 1pm and commence sailing towards our first destination - the quaint harbour town of Stari Grad. Situated on the northern side of the island, Stari Grad literally means 'Old Town' and it is the oldest town in Croatia. Stari Grad boasts an attractive network of old narrow streets and small squares around the harbour.

Vineyards and olive groves surround the town and the Stari Grad Plain is a UNESCO protected World Heritage Site.

Tonight we'll enjoy a traditional Croatian Village Dinner on the Stari Grad Plain, indulging in delicious Peka and locally produced wine.

Split Stari Grad

This morning we'll head out to the stunning Pakleni Islands where we'll stop for a refreshing swim stop and lunch onboard. We'll continue to other side of Hvar Island to the famous Hvar Town, the ‘French Riviera’ of the Adriatic. Feel the part sipping champagne and docking alongside other super yachts. Although a haven for celebrity spotters, Hvar still remains authentic to its roots, with cobbled streets, historic architecture and a 16th Century Fortress overlooking the town.

Don’t miss out on the included Hvar Orientation Walk to see the Renaissance cathedral with its original tower, as well as the oldest community theatre in Europe, which dates back to 1612.

Please Note: The docking time in Hvar can be early evening in peak season due to Port Authority restrictions. However, if guests would like to arrive earlier, water taxi transfers will be arranged.

Hvar Stari Grad

Today we sail south-east to one of the most beautiful islands in Croatia, Mljet, which is actually a National Park and Croatia’s greenest island; covered by dense Mediterranean pine forest. The National Park is famous for its two salt lakes in the north end of the island - Veliko and Malo Jezero, as well as the 12th century Benedictine monastery in the middle of Veliko. You're able to explore the stunning natural beauty of the island by cycling or walking around to where the sea meets the lake.

After exploring, spend your afternoon on the top deck of the ship watching a magical Mljet sunset with a drink in hand.

Mljet Bike Rental

Mljet Hvar

There is nothing like waking up in the peaceful Mljet and enjoying breakfast as we cruise towards the UNESCO protected and spectacularly beautiful city of Dubrovnik. Enjoy the beautiful views along the way towards "heaven on earth" - according to the famous writer George Bernard Shaw. We will arrive into Dubrovnik in the afternoon, allowing plenty of time to be spent exploring Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik’s Old Town is wonderfully captivating with its 1,940m long 15th century stone walls built to protect the city from invasion.

We highly recommended walking around the walls to grasp the diverse nature of this city. Walk along the Stradun, the promenade inside the old city walls and meander the alleyways to discover numerous local restaurants, shops and bars.

The included Dubrovnik City Historical Walking Tour is a great way to learn about this wonderful city.

Explore this fortified town, with its narrow streets and lookout towers and spend your afternoon understanding the islands host of legends, myths and tales. The town's stone walls were built over two centuries ago, and the Old Town is built in a fishbone structure that you have to see to believe.

.Enjoy cruising along the Adriatic coast as we make our way to the Makarska Riviera. Spend the afternoon swimming at one of the beautiful beaches along the riviera, relaxing onboard or enjoy strolling the streets of Makarska, exploring the beachfront markets.

Take a walk around the tip of the riviera for a wonderful view of the Biokovo Mountain range and get up close to the statue of St Peter, watching protectively over this beautiful town. Unwind with a cocktail as you absorb the beauty of Makarska and watch the spectacular sunset over the Adriatic.

Makarska Korčula

Embrace your last morning cruising the Dalmatian coast as we make our way back to Split. Enjoy a swim stop in a secluded bay just outside of Split and then take in this spectacular city as we cruise into Split harbour in the afternoon, This UNESCO World Heritage city bases the city centre in and around the stunning Diocletian's Palace, the Roman emperor Diocletian’s retirement palace from 295-305 AD.

Stroll through the palace basement filled with market stalls and once outside, experience the historical architecture of this beautiful palace that consists of 220 buildings within its boundaries and is home to 3,000 people.

Split is now the second largest city in Croatia and continues to grow every year with numerous cafes, bars and traditional Dalmatian restaurants.

What are Elegance Cruises?

Elegance Cruises are our most luxurious cruises, aimed at couples and mature travellers looking for a mix of sightseeing and relaxation. These cruises sail on a 7 day return (South/North/Dubrovnik), or one way departure, from April to October. Elegance Cruises operate exclusively on our top of the range ships, offering the highest level of luxury and comfort onboard.

What time do cruises start/finish?

Check-in is available between 11am and 12pm on day 1 of the cruise, with a Welcome Reception commencing at 12pm. Guests travelling on the Dubrovnik - Split itinerary will stay in Dubrovnik for the first night, and all other itineraries will depart the harbour at 1pm. You'll reach your final destination the day before check-out, with the last night of the cruise spent in Split/Dubrovnik. You are able to disembark the ship after breakfast between 8am and 9am on the last day of your cruise. If you’re unable to make it to check-in on time, you can easily catch up with your ship at your first destination. Please see FAQ: What if I can’t make the check-in time?

What if I can’t make the check-in time?

If you’re unable to arrive at your departure point for check-in, it’s easy to catch up with your ship at your first destination. See information on how to get to your first destination below:

Split Return North: you will spend your first night in the mainland destination of Trogir. Trogir is easily accessible by public bus from Split (45 minutes). You can find the bus timetable online here.

If you need assistance planning your arrival, a member of our Sales Team will be happy to help you connect the dots! We are able to provide land based transfers if required, or our Operations Team are also able to assist you on the ground with logistics.

Are transfers between the airport and the port included?

As part of your Elegance cruise, transfers are included between the airport and your hotel, or straight to the ship on the start day of your cruise. Transfers from the ship to the airport are also included on the last day of your cruise. Please advise your flight details (flight number, arrival/departure time) at least 5 days before departure by emailing our Sales Team on [email protected] Once we have this information we will be happy to arrange these for you.

What ages are onboard the ship?

The minimum age onboard the Elegance cruise is 18. If you are looking for a Sail Croatia experience with children younger than 18 years old, you may be interested in our Private Yacht Tours!

What are the cabin arrangements?

Cabins on the Elegance cruise are our most luxurious and spacious cabins, consisting of a Twin or Double bed, ensuite and air-conditioning. Twin or Double bed cabins are confirmed during the booking stage, so please let us know your preferences. On some ships, we also have Triple cabins available. Triple cabins consist of a double bed and a single bunk, and we provide a 10% discount per person. Each cabin is approximately 10-12 square meters (including the ensuite).

What is the difference between Above Deck and Lower Deck cabins?

Above Deck cabins are located on the main deck of the ship and may have internal or external access. The Lower Deck cabins are situated in the hull of the ship and are accessed via stairs from the main deck down into the hull. The Lower Deck cabins are slightly more affordable than the Above Deck cabins, however they are usually slightly larger in size as there is no walk-way around the outside. They are also often cooler and quieter in the evenings. The main benefit with the Above Deck cabins is that they are on the main or upper deck, easily accessible without having to use the stairs!

I am travelling by myself. Is there a Single supplement?

If you prefer to have your own cabin, you can pay a single supplement which is 50% of the one person price. Please note single supplements are not applicable on Special Offers or discounted cruises. Alternatively, we can match you with another solo traveller of the same sex onboard the ship.

What meals are served onboard?

Each morning the onboard cook will prepare a buffet breakfast, complete with hot and cold dishes. A traditional three course lunch is also served daily, prepared by the onboard cook. Two evening meals are included on all Elegance cruises; a Captain's dinner (complete with entertainment) and a Traditional Village Dinner. On the other evenings, we encourage you to explore the local towns and experience Dalmatian cuisine. Your onboard Tour Manager will be able to offer suggestions on the best places to eat at each destination!

I am a vegetarian or have a special dietary request - do you cater for me?

Our onboard cook is able to cater for vegetarians and travellers with special dietary requests. If you are allergic to certain foods, please specify in advance what this includes. We will note this so the cook can be prepared.

Are there any local payments that I need to be aware of?

A local payment of 30 Euros per person is payable onboard your Sail Croatia Cruise. This payment incorporates port fees and tourist taxes throughout the week and is subject to change.

What type of luggage should I bring?

If you’re joining us from within Europe, we highly recommend limiting your luggage to one suitcase; however, we understand that this might not be possible for international travellers who are flying in just for the cruise, or on extended trips. In most cabins, you will be able to store bags under the bed; however, in the case of excess luggage, please ask check-in staff to give you additional information about possible storage.

Will I get to visit the Blue Cave as a part of my cruise?

A visit to the Blue Cave in Vis is dependant on weather conditions and your itinerary. If conditions allow, an optional visit to the Blue Cave will be offered. This activity is not a part of your booking with us and therefore Sail Croatia shall not be deemed responsible for any damage, loss or dissatisfaction related to the Blue Cave visit.

Am I able to use the jacuzzi onboard 24/7?

You’re welcome to relax in the onboard jacuzzi throughout your cruise. Please note that the jacuzzi may not be available at all times due to conditions such as electricity consumption, fresh water usage onboard and weather conditions.
