Itinerary

Welcome, Tashi Delek from the capital of the Himalayan Kingdom, Nepal! Our representative will be waiting for you to accompany you to your accommodation in the quiet corner of the city.

Take a rest of few minutes after settling in your room, then you will meet our accompanying guide in the hotel. A short introductory meeting will be conducted where he will explain about the days ahead of our Everest Base Camp trek 14 days trip.

Let our guide see what you have brought so he can help you in purchasing or hiring one at the affordable cost. If time is available, you can then walk the ancient alleys of the Basantapur for a while.

We will depart for the airport early in the morning, get on the small plane and storm in the air for about half an hour enjoying the mosaic of spectacular landscape belonging to Everest.

Making use of our adrenaline reserve, we will now begin trekking to Phakding. A 12 km long cobbling pathway will lead us through the diverse array of Sherpa villages, farms, and forests.

We will first gently ascend the Dudh Koshi River and reach the outskirts of Lukla. From here on, we will primarily descend and travel through Chheplung, Chaurikharka, and Thadokoshi. Here, we will be able to observe the wonderful landscape of Kusum-Kangaru (6367 m).

The road further will take us down to Ghat where the marvelous 5761 m Khumbila shower is with its beauty. Phakding will soon arrive where we will make a stop for the night in a guest house.

Beginning our Everest Base Camp trek adventure after breakfast, we will walk beside the torrential river Dudh Koshi. Soon, we will be crossing the small suspended metal bridge over the river. Then overcoming several ups and downs, we will reach Benkar.

Now, the cooling sight of 6609 m Thamserku will delight our eyes as we proceed further to Monjo, the central entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park.

After our permits are checked, we will now start to climb up till we are at Jorsalle. Climbing further for about 30 to 40 minutes, we will now prepare to walk across the legendary Hilary Suspension Bridge.

The long 60 m bridge is located over the point where the Dudh Koshi merges with  the amazing Bhote Koshi River. Added to the thrill is the exciting sighting of 6495 m Tarboche Himal.

Now, for around one hour, we will continue to walk up gently till we are at the top of Top Danda (the Everest View Point). The Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8516 m), and Nuptse (7861 m) offer us their outstanding views from here.

Now, we will have to tackle the rapidly climbing road all the way to Namche Bazaar – a place full of cultural and local stories.

Because we wanted to give our bodies time to adapt to the highlands, we will carry out the activities that will facilitate the acclimatization process.

We will make a small ascent to the 3790 m high Khumjung Village and explore its monastery. It is said to contain the scalp of a real Yeti ( the Snowman) which we will definitely request to see.

Then we will further climb to the 3880 m high Everest View Hotel located high above in the Syangboche Village. Here, we can admire the peaks that pierce the sky: Lhotse, Cholatse, Thamserku, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Everest, and Tawache.

On the way down, the local children and monks playing football will be a delightful encounter.

We are drawing closer to the illustrious Everest Base Camp. The first part of our walk will be gently tracing the edge of the ridge. Now, the hanging metal bridge will usher us over the Imja Khola.

On the other side, the pathway now travels steeply up taking us over the 3250 high Phungi Thanga. It is the ideal resting place that will prepare us for the 2 hour long steeper road to Tengboche.

The climb is dotted with rhododendron forests, so we don’t take our eyes off any scenery worth remembering. In Tengboche we will see the old monastery famous for celebrating the Mani Rimdu festival, the huge Buddha statue, the ingenious wall paintings and we will listen to the soothing chants of the monks.

We will also admire the majestic mountains of over 8000 m in well-deserved moments of respite (Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse). Nearby, we will stop for the night in a cozy lodge.

Leaving behind the beautiful sunrise from Tengboche, we will advance to reach Deboche. The steepening road from here will lead us to a stunning suspended bridge over the Imja Khola. Once we traverse this bridge, we will climb to 3900 m Pangboche Village.

The ancient monastery in this village used to be famous for housing the Yeti scalp, but now it only holds a replica of that legendary artifact, as the original was stolen long ago.

Stop for a while to see the dramatic change in the landscape: the land here is reigned by the tundra trees only. Our journey will keep on taking us deeper into the Imja Valley and shortly we will walking side by side along the Lobuche River.

Shortly, Dingboche will be reached where we will be greeted by houses with stone walls, fertile lands and memorable views towards Lhotse, Island Peak (6165 m) and Ama Dablam (6812 m).

Since we are at 4360 m, we will therefore spend two nights here to prepare for a new acclimatization session.

We will spend another acclimatization session with a short climb to the breathtaking altitude of 5,100 m at Nangkartshang/Nagarjung Hill. The climb and descent to this summit can last roughly three to four hours.

The rugged trail to the summit is covered with cobblestones, rocky patches, and loose debris, with boulders scattered throughout. However, the landscapes of the hills that stretch in the back of Dingboche are not inferior to those you have been used to until now, especially since they offer a view of a thousand-year-old peaks.

Tawache, Makalu (8485 m), Nirukhang, Cholatse, Ama Dablam, Lobuche, Baruntse, Thamserku, and Island will be at their best glory. After making sure that no corner is left unexplored, we will return for a well-deserved portion of sleep in our lodge.

We will leave Dingboche and continue our journey towards the beautiful mountain town of Lobuche. Embracing with our eyes the majestic view of the mountain peaks and the glacial valleys, we will climb and reach Dusa before arriving at Dughla (4500 m).

Now a steep sharp ascent awaits us of about an hour as we approach the 4830 m high Dughla Pass. Covered with huge pile of prayer flags, the top of this pass serves as the memorial honoring the memory of the climbers who perished on Everest.

After we offer our sincere prayers, its time we take a look around and forget for a moment in the breathtakingly mesmerizing views of Ama Dablam, Lobuche Peak and its base camp.

Moving on, we will walk uphill to the last ridge of the Khumbu Glacier. Pumori Himal (7161 m) is outstandingly visible from here. Completely surrounded by the stone kingdom, we shortly arrive at Lobuche.

It is possible that altitude sickness is already making its presence felt. But keep calm and rest as much as you can so the adaptation can rapidly take place.

The moment has finally arrived when we will see the Everest base camp with our own eyes. We will start early in the morning, slowly step by step, that will take us along the world-famous Khumbu Glacier.

Here, we can enjoy the magical mountains of Lingtren, Pumori, Nuptse, Khumbutse, Mahalangur, and Everest penetrating the sky. We will now deftly go around the ridges, moraines and rocks to reach the Lobuche Pass.

This pass is lovingly called the Thangma Riju pass by the Sherpas. Another hour will see us climbing slowly along the Changri Glacier till we reach the hill of Gorakshep. It is the last establishment of the Khumbu region where we will gain strength with the delicious meal.

With our backpacks safely left behind at the guest house, we will now take on the winding rocky track towards the Everest Base Camp. The multitude of colorful tents of the climbers at the camp shape the beautiful mosaic here.

Overwhelmed by the magnetic Khumbu Icefall, Nuptse, and Lhotse, we return and spend the warm night in Gorakshep.

We will wake up and get ready very early (3 to 4 am) to see the most precious sunrise view of the world. We will head towards Kala Patthar, the ascent is not technical but challenging due to the steep incline that will require about 1 to 2 hours of our effort.

Congratulations! We have reached perhaps the highest altitude of our lives: 5545 m. Nature’s greatest art is in front of us: Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Khumbutse, Pumori, Everest, Nuptse, Lobuche, Changtse, Lingtren, and many others.

After filling our memory box, our adventure continues with the return to Gorakshep, after which we will walk through Lobuche and Dughla once more. We will then step on the wet moss surrounded by full, then sub-full vegetation as we progress to Pheriche.

From today, we will make our way back which is going to be a smooth journey easy on our joints and muscles. The adventure lures us again along the Dudh Koshi River when we will once more come across Pangboche.

A half-hour further downhill walk will guide us across the small bridge from where we will walk on the path advancing us to Deboche. A short 30-minute ascent will further take us to Tengboche Gompa.

Now, we will walk down for about an hour and a half to reach Phungi Thanga and Sanasa. The trail skirting the eastern side of the small hill will finally take us to the mysterious village of Namche Bazaar.

The bumpy road will continue to take us up and down towards Top Danda, Jorsalle, and Monjo. Now, we leave the Sagarmatha National Park and hike along the youth trails of Benkar, Phakding, Thadokoshi, Chheplung, and Chaurikharka to reach Lukla.

Finally, in the evening, we rest our bodies in the comfortable beds of the hotel.

We will embrace this new day with the morning flight to the medieval capital of Nepal, which shatters the spell of Everest and brings us down to earth.

We can walk through the streets, take pictures, and build other memories so that later when we are tired, we can pamper ourselves at the hotel. If the weather is not favorable for the flight, we will fly to Manthali and drive to Kathmandu.

In the evening, we will delight in a charming farewell dinner- a perfect finale to our Everest Base Camp trek adventure.

Every beautiful adventure has an end, so you say goodbye to Nepal and head to TIA to your home. We are sure your journey has been spectacularly shaped by the mystical and incredible atmosphere of Nepal.
