Today, we will drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap at midnight at 1:00 AM. it takes around 4-5 hours to drive from Kathmandu to reach Ramechhap. Then, we morning flight to Lukla, a small mountain airstrip (flight time: 22 minutes). From Lukla, trek to Phakding (3-4 hours). The trail initially descends through the Dudh Koshi River valley and passes through Sherpa villages. Enjoy the scenic flight over the Himalayas and pass through charming villages with views of the surrounding peaks. Overnight at Phakding
The trek today lasts 6-7 hours and follows the Dudh Koshi River. Cross several suspension bridges and pass through Jorsale Village before heading up to the famous Namche Bazaar. Beautiful views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and other peaks start to emerge. Namche is a busy market town and a great spot to rest and acclimatize. Overnight in Namche Bazar
Take a rest day for acclimatization. This is critical to adjust to the increasing altitude. You can take a short hike up to the Everest View Hotel or visit the Sherpa Museum. Views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamserku. Learn about the Sherpa culture and history at the museum. Overnight in Namche Bazar.
The trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860 meters) takes about 5-6 hours. The trail winds through beautiful forests of pine and rhododendrons, crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. As you ascend, the landscape opens up, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.
The highlight of the day is the Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, where you can enjoy panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Lhotse. This monastery is a spiritual hub for the Sherpa people.
The trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 meters) takes around 5-6 hours. The trail descends through pine and rhododendron forests, passing through the villages of Deboche and Pangboche. As you continue, the path opens up to alpine meadows with stunning views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other towering peaks. You'll also pass several small Sherpa villages along the way.
On this day, you take a rest to allow your body to adjust to the higher altitude of Dingboche (4,410 meters). Acclimatization is key to preventing altitude sickness, and this break helps you safely prepare for the upcoming higher-altitude sections of the trek.
You can opt for a short hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,100 meters), which offers spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Ama Dablam. This hike is not only great for acclimatization but also provides an opportunity to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Khumbu region from a higher vantage point
The trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 meters) takes about 5-6 hours. The trail gradually ascends through rugged terrain, passing by Cholung Glacier and memorials dedicated to fallen climbers. Along the way, you’ll be treated to dramatic views of Khumbutse, Pumori, and other nearby peaks. The path becomes more alpine and barren as you approach Lobuche, with breathtaking mountain vistas.
The trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164 meters) takes about 3 hours, followed by a 2-3 three-hour hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters). The trail is rocky and exposed, passing alongside the Khumbu Glacier. As you approach Gorak Shep, the views of Pumori, Nuptse, and other surrounding peaks become even more striking. After a short rest at Gorak Shep, you continue towards Everest Base Camp, where you’ll get an up-close view of the Khumbu Icefall and the massive glaciers
A morning hike to Kala Patthar (5,550 m/18,209 ft) offers stunning panoramic views of Everest and the surrounding peaks. The climb is challenging but rewarding, with breathtaking vistas of snow-capped mountains. After taking in the views, you’ll descend to Dgongla, a peaceful village nestled in the mountains, to rest and recover from the altitude
Trekking from Dgongla to Thangnak (5,367 m / 17,608 ft) via Cho La Pass is a challenging yet rewarding journey. The trail ascends through rugged terrain, with stunning views of glaciers and snow-covered peaks. Reaching the Cho La Pass (5,420 m / 17,780 ft) offers a thrilling moment, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. After crossing the pass, the trail descends to Thangnak, a scenic spot where trekkers can rest and acclimatize before continuing their adventure
Trekking from Thangnak to Gokyo is a beautiful and relatively short journey. The trail winds through rocky terrain and past stunning lakes, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. As you approach Gokyo, the turquoise waters of the Gokyo Lakes come into view, set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks. It’s a serene and scenic hike, perfect for acclimatization and enjoying the majestic Himalayan landscape
Trekking from Dole to Namche Bazaar is a gradual descent through the lush forested trails of the Khumbu region. As you make your way down, you’ll cross suspension bridges and pass through traditional Sherpa villages, offering glimpses of local life. The route provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Everest and Ama Dablam. Reaching Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Everest region, marks a return to a more vibrant and lively atmosphere after the peaceful trek through the mountains
Trekking from Namche to Lukla is a scenic descent through forested trails, crossing bridges over rivers, and passing through small Sherpa villages. The route offers beautiful views of the Himalayas and lush landscapes. As you approach Lukla, the trail becomes more gradual, and the atmosphere becomes livelier, signaling the end of the trek. Lukla, known for its famous airport, marks the conclusion of your Everest region adventure before catching a flight back to Kathmandu
The flight from Lukla to Ramechhap takes about 15-20 minutes, offers stunning views of the Himalayas. After landing at Ramechhap Airport, you will drive to Kathmandu, which takes around 4-5 hours. The drive takes you through scenic landscapes, winding roads, and small villages, offering a unique view of the countryside before reaching Kathmandu
On your departure from Kathmandu, you'll have some free time to explore the city or do last-minute shopping, depending on your flight schedule. Later, you'll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home. This marks the end of your incredible Everest Base Camp adventure, with memories of the stunning landscapes and experiences along the way
