The trek takes off from Lukla. First, you will take 30 minutes morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and land at tiny Lukla Airport, and then your trek starts in Khumbu Region. The trek leads to the Dudh Kosi valley route with a climb up to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazar. From Namche, you will trek along a heightened path from where you will witness the first good view of Everest. Next, you head towards Tyangboche Monastery, located on the mountain ridge. To reach the Base Camp, you will trek through the glacier that takes you first to Lobuche and then to Ghorak Shep, where you will finally reach your destination Everest Base Camp, at the foot of the Khumbu ice falls.

The flora and fauna, such as Nepal’s national flower – the rhododendron, musk deer and the always present yak’s grazing add to the appeal of this adventure.We begin our 12 day trek with a short 30 minute scenic flight to Lukla, where we put on our boots and head off on the trail to Phakding Village. We then head to the meeting point for many treks and expeditions, the Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, a lively modern town. From Namche Bazaar we head to Tengboche and its renowned Buddhist monastery, Dawa Choling Gompa. From the monastery you will hear echo the unforgettable mantras of the monks and nuns that create a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. Sherpas nearly always pray before heading to the mountains, believing prayer will ensure a safe passage. The next village we come to is Thukla from where we begin heading to higher elevations. We then come to Lobuche (4,940m /16,210 ft) from where we have panoramic views of the Himalayas. Our next stop is Everest Base Camp (5364m), the highest point on the trek. This is where you can think just how Hillary and Norgay felt as they planned their ascent of the highest peak in the world, keeping in mind this was 67 years ago and they did not have technology like we do today to assist them. The next stunning feature of this trek is the gigantic Khumbu Glacier, rising from (4,900m/16,100ft) at its lowest point to (7,600m/ (24,900ft) at its source higher up the mountain. Gorak Shep (5,185m) and Kala Patthar viewpoint are next stops on the trail. To ensure we get the best views from Kala Patthar we will get up very early in the morning when the air is pure and the light is perfect to catch the splendor of the sun rising over the mountains. Mt. Everest and the Khumbu Glacier and their pure whiteness are clearly observable from here. We then head back to Gorakshep, Pheriche, Namche Bazaar and to where we began our trek at Lukla. Our flight from Lukla will draw attention to the vastness of the Himalayas below, even more so now that you have been among and humbled by those glorious mountains. Sherpa Expedition Teams will organize your permit and take care of all meals and accommodation on the trek.

The region was affected by the earthquake in April 2015. With reconstruction and renovation efforts underway, the area has reopened for trekking, and the local people have also welcomed tourists. The 7 days Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an ideal adventure for those people who have a tight schedule but still want to experience the amazing landscape and the fascinating lifestyles of the Gurung culture & villages. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC) (4130m) is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. This trek offers close up views of vast mountain ranges, including Hiunchuli, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Annapurna South peaks.The ideal time for this trek is in spring when the Rhododendron forests are in full bloom (red, pink & white). Evidence of the Tibetan Buddhist influence in this region is noticeable by the many chortens (Buddhist stone monuments), and prayer flags along the trail. You will also see yaks grazing, bamboo forests and the distinctive Tibetan style architecture in the villages in this region.Your adventure begins at Kathmandu where you will drive to Pokhara and on to Nayapul (1050m) where we start our trek with the Modi Khola River below us and terraced rice fields above. Our next stop along the way is Chomrong (2170m) and then on to the Himalaya Lodge at Ghandruk (1940m). Does a more remote trek with unspoiled natural beauty appeal to you? The Manaslu trek is a tough one physically, with up to 7 hour days on the trail, but the rewards are immensely satisfying. You will trek through high alpine passes while being surrounded by massive snow-laden peaks, with Manaslu (world’s 8th highest) at the center soaring 8163m into the sky. The Manaslu trek is considered a tougher trek than Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp treks. You will head through Larkya La Pass (5,106m), the highest altitude on the trek, and which is believed to be the most dramatic high altitude passes in the Himalayas. Glaciers are a common sight as they slowly make their way down the mountainsides. You will be stunned at how close some of these giant peaks appear to you along the trail. Mountains, such as Mt. Himalchuli (7,893m), Mt. Ganesh Himal (7,422m), and Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) appear straight above you and appear to be within a stone’s throw away. Don’t worry; you will be well prepared for the higher altitudes with several days of acclimatization at lower altitudes.The appeal of the Manaslu trek is due to it being “off the beaten track”, and accompanied with unspoiled scenery, culturally rich villages, biological diversity, and remote lodges/guesthouses. You will encounter both Hindu and Tibetan-style Buddhist villages with their unique architectural styles and cultures.The real legwork begins at Soti Khola and ends at Besisahar with the trail winding its way through Budhi Gandaki Valley, across numerous rivers, to the Pungen Glacier and to the ancient Tibetan settlement at Lho. This trek will leave you spell-bound, spiritually enriched from encounters at the various Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu villages and have you talking about this unforgettable journey a long time after you return home.
