The iconic Everest region is a dream destination for mountain climbers, trekkers, and travelers. The Alpine Club of Himalaya offers you the chance to discover the wonders of the Khumbu region aboard a luxury helicopter tour. The tour starts with a flight from Kathmandu Valley and takes you to several attractions in the region. First, head towards the iconic settlement of Lukla, perched on a hilltop, then on to Kala Patthar, a renowned vantage point. After soaking in the views from 5,550 meters, head towards the Everest View Hotel — one of the highest-placed hotels in the world — and enjoy a good meal with views of snowcapped mountains and the deep wilderness of the region. After that, head back via Lukla to Kathmandu Valley.

Kathmandu to Lukla (2,845 m) 30–45 Minutes
Your Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour begins in Kathmandu. After arriving at the domestic airport, board your helicopter and fly toward Lukla, one of the main gateways to the Everest region.
During the flight, enjoy panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley, green hills, traditional settlements, and the dramatic landscapes of central Nepal. Upon arrival in Lukla, the helicopter will stop briefly for refueling.
After a short 10–15 minute break, continue your journey toward Kala Patthar.
Lukla to Kala Patthar (5,550 m) 15–20 Minutes
Fly above the legendary Everest trekking route, passing famous Himalayan settlements such as Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Gorak Shep, as well as the dramatic landscapes of Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon reaching Kala Patthar, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Everest region. From this famous viewpoint, you can admire Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtega, Taboche, Lobuche, and many other Himalayan peaks.
You will have approximately 30 minutes to enjoy the mountain scenery, glaciers, and surrounding landscapes before continuing toward Everest View Hotel.
Kala Patthar to Everest View Hotel – Approx. 12 Minutes
Continue your helicopter journey through the Khumbu region toward the famous Everest View Hotel.
During the flight, enjoy close-up views of snow-capped mountains, alpine landscapes, and the remote Himalayan wilderness.
Breakfast at Everest View Hotel – Approx. 30-Minute Stop
Enjoy breakfast at Everest View Hotel while taking in panoramic views of the Himalayas and the surrounding rhododendron and alpine forests.
After approximately 30 minutes, board the helicopter again and begin the return journey toward Lukla.
Everest View Hotel to Lukla – Approx. 15 Minutes
Fly back toward Lukla while enjoying another opportunity to admire the spectacular Himalayan scenery and traditional mountain settlements below.
Upon arrival in Lukla, there will be a brief 10–15 minute stop for helicopter refueling.
Lukla to Kathmandu – Approx. 45 Minutes
After refueling, fly back to Kathmandu, covering approximately 136 kilometers.
During the return journey, enjoy aerial views of the Himalayan foothills, green valleys, rural villages, and the Kathmandu Valley.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will assist you with your transfer. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your own pace.

Notice on Domestic Flight Kathmandu to Lukla
The Government of Nepal has announced an issue for the flight operation to Lukla. Most flights to Lukla will commence from Ramechhap until further notice to avoid heavy traffic congestion in Kathmandu airport.
The airport in Ramechhap has located 130km from Kathmandu (approximately 3-4 hours drive).
Alternatively, helicopter arrangements can be made for 5 people sharing basis with the addition of USD 500 for one way flight per person to change your airplane flights to the helicopter. We will try to coordinate and form groups at the airport for this arrangement, but we cannot guarantee it.
The drive to Ramechhap and flight to Lukla are guaranteed unless the flight is canceled due to bad weather conditions.
Travelers are suggested to advise us on the preferred alternatives for the flights to/from Lukla affected due to possible delays or disruptions.
