Itinerary
Welcome to Vietnam! Upon your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, we'll provide a comfortable transfer to the heart of Hanoi. Check into your hotel and take a well-deserved rest after your journey. Feel free to explore the city on your own or consult our tour guide for recommendations. Enjoy your first night in Hanoi.
After breakfast, your guide will take you on a full-day tour of Hanoi, Vietnam's charming capital. We'll begin at the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you'll visit his mausoleum, garden, and stilt house.
Our first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a significant monument housing the preserved body of Vietnam's founder. Please note that it's open from Tuesday to Thursday and weekends.
Next, we'll explore the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh's iconic stilt house, a symbol of his simple lifestyle. Nearby, you'll find the One Pillar Pagoda, a unique structure resembling a lotus flower. Built in 1049 and restored in 1955, it's a testament to Vietnamese history and culture.
Our next stop is the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university. This historic site offers insights into the country's educational system from the 11th century to modern times.
In the afternoon, we'll explore the fascinating Vietnam Ethnology Museum, which showcases the diverse cultures of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. The museum features both indoor and outdoor exhibits, including traditional houses from various ethnic communities.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a scenic 3-hour drive through the lush farmlands of the Red River Delta, heading towards Ha Long City.
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994, Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam's most breathtaking natural wonders. Located nearly 200 km from Hanoi, the bay is adorned with 1,600 limestone islands, captivating the hearts of visitors.
Upon arrival in Ha Long, board a luxurious wooden sailing junk for a cruise through the bay's stunning emerald waters and majestic limestone cliffs. This journey offers a chance to soak in the beauty of this World Heritage Site. While on board, indulge in a sumptuous lunch featuring fresh, local seafood, followed by opportunities to swim and explore some of the area's impressive limestone caves. As the sun sets, the boat will drop anchor near a secluded island for the night, with a delightful dinner served on board.
Wake up to the serene beauty of the bay, with time for an early morning dip and the joy of watching the sunrise over the sea, followed by a hearty breakfast. This morning, we'll continue cruising around the bay, exploring more secluded areas. The junk will remain nearby, serving as a backup vessel for anyone who may need it. Around midday, we'll head back to the main harbor and transfer to our waiting vehicle for a 3-hour drive to Noi Bai Airport, where we’ll catch a flight to Hue.
Hue served as the capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty, known for its stunning architecture, including citadels, palaces, royal tombs, and pagodas. Beyond its historical landmarks, the city’s ancient traditions add to its unique, romantic charm.
Upon arriving in Hue, you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Hue.
In the morning, take a short walk to the boat pier on Huong River, where we’ll embark on a scenic boat trip to the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, also known as the Heavenly Lady Pagoda.
Built in 1601, this historic site is one of Hue’s most famous religious landmarks and a must-see for visitors. The harmonious blend of the landscape and architecture creates a serene atmosphere, offering a sense of peace to all who visit.
Disembark for a visit to the elaborate mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc.
Located along the Perfume River, Tu Duc Mausoleum is often regarded as the most picturesque site in Hue. Designed by the emperor himself, this tomb is the largest architectural masterpiece among the Nguyen Dynasty's royal palaces and tombs.
In the afternoon, visit Hue Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City.
Constructed in the 19th century by the Nguyen Dynasty, the Citadel stands as Vietnam's most significant historical and cultural monument. Enclosed by a 2 km square wall, the complex comprises three main areas: the Citadel, the Imperial City (Yellow City), and the Forbidden Purple City.
Afterward we continue our south bound journey by road to Hoi An. Arrive in Hoian a little bit late today, transfer to check-in hotel then you are free to relax.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting your guide and driver for a transfer to Ba Na Hills, located 40 km from Da Nang.
Ba Na Hills is known for its unique climate, experiencing four seasons in a single day, unspoiled forests, and breathtaking views over Da Nang city. With a blend of villas, restaurants, and a game complex, it’s an ideal destination for family holidays.
Upon arrival, explore the Old French Villas at an elevation of 1,138 meters and admire the architecture. Next, take a mountain climbing train to visit the Flower Garden, home to a variety of stunning blooms. Continue to see the ancient tree, stream, Great Buddha Statue, Suspension Bridge, and the Wine Tunnel, which houses an array of wines. Don’t miss the iconic Golden Bridge, known for its unique design and a must-see spot at Sun World’s Ba Na Hills.
In the afternoon, spend more time sightseeing and relaxing, or have fun at the Fantasy Theme Amusement Park (fee paid by yourself).
Today, you'll get your first glimpse of the charming town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known for its tranquil atmosphere, Hoi An captivates visitors with its low, tiled-roof houses reflecting Chinese influences, the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, and the vibrant riverside market. It’s easily one of the most delightful destinations in Vietnam.
Situated in Central Vietnam, Hoi An was once a bustling international trading port during the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, it’s beloved for its peaceful beauty, unique blend of architecture, bustling tailor shops, and cozy cafés.
We also take a boat trip on Thu Bon River to visit Thach Ha, the ceramic and pottery village. Learn how to make beautiful jars and bowls.
Leaving Hoian, we transfer to Da Nang Airport to take a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival check in the hotel then you are free to relax.
After a 2-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, you'll arrive in Ben Tre Province. Hop on a boat to visit a local factory, where you can observe the kilns used to produce activated charcoal from coconut shells.
As you cross the Mekong River you’ll make your way to Tam Hiep Island, located 30 km from the Eastern Sea. Stroll along quaint village paths through expansive longan orchards until you reach a local family's home, where you can enjoy a selection of fresh fruits and honey tea.
Next, take a rowing boat deeper into the countryside along smaller canals. You’ll also have the chance to bike to a special farm where creepers, known as LÁ SÂM, are cultivated. Here, you can pick some leaves to make and taste this unique herbal jelly.
Afterward, cycle back to the boat and continue to Ut Trinh homestay for a delicious lunch featuring local specialties. Following your meal, unwind on the hammocks before returning to the boat, marking the end of your trip!
After breakfast, we kick off the day with a visit to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels.
Located 70 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi Tunnels are an impressive underground network built by Vietnamese soldiers during the American War. Today, these tunnels are a popular tourist attraction.
In the afternoon, we’ll pass by the now-demolished War Remnants Museum before visiting the Reunification Palace.
The War Remnants Museum offers poignant evidence of the atrocities and consequences of war inflicted upon Vietnam, first by the French and then by American forces.
Next, we’ll explore the Reunification Palace, a distinctive structure originally designed for the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. As you enter, you can admire its architectural beauty and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere created by the surrounding trees and greenery.
Next, we’ll visit some iconic French colonial structures, including the Old Saigon Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral.
Notre Dame Cathedral stands out as one of the most famous architectural monuments influenced by European design. Its striking exterior and interior feature vibrant red bricks, beautiful stained glass panels, and intricately carved tiles, making it a popular attraction for tourists.
The final stop on our city tour is Ben Thanh Market. Originating from informal markets established by street vendors in the early 17th century along the Saigon River, Ben Thanh Market is the oldest surviving structure and a significant symbol of Saigon. It’s a great place to shop for handicrafts, textiles, souvenirs, and local cuisine.
Afterward, you’ll be transferred to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your flight to your next destination (we suggest booking a late afternoon or evening flight). This marks the end of Asia King Travel’s services.
