Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Eco Nepal Trekkers will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you’ll receive a short briefing about your Island Peak adventure and have time to relax or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and get introduced to your guide and team.

Today is dedicated to final trip preparations. After breakfast, the Eco Nepal Trekkers team will assist you in checking your gear, arranging necessary equipment rentals (if needed), and confirming permits. You'll have time to explore Kathmandu, visit local attractions, or relax before the trek begins. A final briefing will be held in the evening to ensure everything is ready for the adventure ahead.

Early morning, we drive (approx. 4–5 hours) to Ramechhap airport, then take a scenic mountain flight to Lukla (2,840m) — the gateway to the Everest region. After meeting our porter team, we begin a gentle 3–4 hour trek through picturesque villages and along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Phakding (2,610m). Overnight stay in a teahouse by the riverside.

After breakfast, we continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges and passing through beautiful pine forests. Entering Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, we begin a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), the main trading hub of the Khumbu region. The 6–7 hour trek rewards us with our first views of Mt. Everest (weather permitting). Overnight at a cozy teahouse in Namche.

Today is a rest and acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the altitude. We take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for stunning panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. On the way back, we visit the Sherpa Museum and local market. The afternoon is free to relax or explore Namche’s shops and cafés. Overnight stay in Namche.

We leave Namche and follow a scenic trail with views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. After descending to the Dudh Koshi River at Phunki Tenga, we climb through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche (3,867m), home to the region’s largest Buddhist monastery. In the evening, we can attend a prayer ceremony with monks. Overnight at a teahouse in Tengboche.

Today’s trek offers spectacular mountain views as we descend through forests and cross the Imja Khola. We pass the charming village of Pangboche and continue with a gradual ascent toward the wide, open valley of Dingboche (4,410m). The landscape becomes more alpine and less forested. Total walking time is about 5–6 hours. Overnight stay in Dingboche.

After a restful night in Dingboche, we take a short but scenic 3–4 hour trek to Chhukung (4,730m), a small village nestled beneath towering peaks like Lhotse and Ama Dablam. The trail gradually ascends through alpine terrain with stunning views of glaciers and surrounding mountains. This day also helps with acclimatization before the Island Peak climb. Overnight in Chhukung.

Today is a rest and acclimatization day in Chhukung to prepare for the upcoming Island Peak climb. You can explore the village, hike to nearby viewpoints like Chhukung Ri for panoramic mountain views, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful alpine surroundings. Overnight stay in Chhukung.

From Chhukung, we trek about 3–4 hours, ascending gradually through rocky terrain and moraine trails to reach Island Peak Base Camp (5,080m). This camp is our gateway for the final climb and offers stunning views of surrounding peaks. Overnight stay in tents at base camp, preparing for the summit push

Starting early before dawn, we climb steep snow and ice slopes using crampons and ropes, navigating the glacier and fixed lines to reach the Island Peak summit (6,189m). After soaking in breathtaking 360° Himalayan views, we carefully descend the same route back to Base Camp for a well-deserved rest and celebration. Total climb time: 8–10 hours.

After descending from Island Peak Base Camp, we trek down through alpine meadows and rocky trails, passing through Chhukung and continuing toward the village of Pangboche (3,900m). The journey takes about 5–6 hours, offering beautiful mountain views and a chance to relax in this traditional Sherpa village. Overnight stay in Pangboche.

We trek downhill through charming villages, pine forests, and cross several suspension bridges along the Dudh Koshi River. The journey takes about 6–7 hours, ending in Lukla (2,840m), the gateway for your flight back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay in Lukla before departure

After flying from Lukla to Ramechhap, we drive back to Kathmandu. In the evening, join a special farewell dinner to celebrate your successful Island Peak climb and the incredible journey. Enjoy great food, stories, and camaraderie as you reflect on your adventure. Overnight in Kathmandu

Today, after breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home. Depart with unforgettable memories of your Island Peak adventure and the Himalayas. Safe travels and thank you for trekking with Eco Nepal Trekkers!
