About this tour
Discover Nepal’s capital on a full-day Kathmandu sightseeing tour led by a local guide. Explore four UNESCO-listed monument zones in the Kathmandu Valley: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple.
Begin in the historic heart of the city at Kathmandu Durbar Square, where royal palaces, carved temples and traditional Newari architecture reflect the legacy of the Malla kings. Continue to hilltop Swayambhunath, known as the Monkey Temple, for views across Kathmandu Valley and a glimpse of its Buddhist shrines and prayer flags.
At Boudhanath Stupa, take in the peaceful atmosphere as pilgrims circle one of Nepal’s most important Buddhist sites. Finish at Pashupatinath Temple beside the Bagmati River, where your guide will introduce you to local Hindu traditions. The main temple is restricted to eligible Hindu worshippers; other visitors can observe from permitted public areas.
With historical context and time to explore each stop, this Kathmandu city tour is a memorable introduction to Nepal’s culture, architecture and spiritual heritage.
