Itinerary

Hearty greetings from Kathmandu- a city of symphony of colors and sounds, a city where east and west meet cordially. Our team will be at the arrival gate of TIA to receive you corresponding to the time of your arrival.

Our team will then drive you to the city accommodation for your overnight stay. After settling in and a few moments of rest, our guide for the lower Mustang motorbike tour will meet you and organize a pre-start briefing and tell you about the rules of riding a motorcycle in Nepal.

Then in the evening, we will get acquainted with our Royal Enfield Motorbike 350 cc bikes and go on a trial test ride around town with other bikers. It will help you get used to the Asian roads, and the technique to improving your cornering skills.

However, the trail will have to be short as a long day trip to Pokhara awaits us tomorrow.

The adventure of the Lower Mustang motorbike tour now starts! After breakfast, we will get ready to leave the frenetic Kathmandu on our rides. Our support jeep will also follow us during the entire tour duration for any assistance.

After leaving Kalanki and Thankot, a steep descent will take us along the asphalt road of Prithvi Highway right next to the Trishuli River. At its market, we will take short refreshments and rest to prepare for the second leg of the journey.

Now, we will drive over the very scenic Mugling-Narayanghat Highway that sometimes bends and winds through the rice terraces of the delightful village of Bandipur.

Goddess Durga shrine, the Manakamana Temple will bless us for the journey while we will continue on with Ganesh, Fishtail, and Annapurna slowly emerging before our eyes.

Here we are, at the most beautiful place on the planet, the pearl of the Himalayas – the city of Pokhara, where we will have the first impression of the true Himalayan landscape of Nepal.

If you are interested in starting your day with a spectacular sunrise over the mountains, then you can wake up early in the morning and go up on your motorcycles to Sarangkot Viewpoint. You can also skip this option and get ready for yet another thrilling adventure of the day.

We will now leave Pokhara and ride along the interesting asphalted mountain road of Baglung Highway and reach Kushma. Here, we will test our spirit and skill as we drive across the long suspension bridge and progress to Baglung and then to Beni. Here we will have a comfortable space to eat our lunch.

Resuming our journey, we are now approaching the deepest gorges of the world: the Kali Gandaki flanked by a few of the highest mountains of the planet: the 8167 m Dhaulagiri, and 8091 m tall Annapurna.

The bumpy, dusty road will continue testing our skills until we reach Tatopani. The road now eases up as it rises steadily to 1446 m. Dana. En route, stop for a while to admire the beautifully falling Rupse Chhahara (waterfall).

Now the rapidly climbing road will take us to 2012 m high Ghasa Village and then to Tukuche, where we can taste the delicious Thakali meal.

Kalopani is just around the corner waiting to embrace us with its tasty dinner and warm comfort.

After a morning salutation from Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, we will prepare for the extreme mountain terrain off-road adventure that awaits us today. The grand river Kali Gandaki will always be with us.

We will tackle a few manageable steep slopes and their descents till we reach Jomsom. Here we will rest our engines, catch our breath, and gaze at the piercing peaks of Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri.

Reviving our engines back to life, we will now journey forward and drive past the Nepal Army School. Another bridge over the calm Pang Khola will usher us forward to an open, wide road beside the eastern bank of the Kali Gandaki.

About 20 minutes will have passed when we arrive at Ekle Bhatti (solitary teahouse). The two branching roads will be encountered, but we will be taking the left one that will lead us to Kagbeni.

It is a quiet village surrounded by spectacular and fascinating mountains and a gateway to Upper Mustang and Muktinath. After some rest, we will now resume our ride to the highest point of our lower Mustang motorbike tour- the Muktinath, located in the lap of Nilgiri.

The climbing road is surprisingly smooth, which also offers the unearthly scenery of Tibet-like surroundings. Driving through the Khingar and Jharkot villages, we will step into the pious land of Muktinath from where we will also have the grand sighting of the massive Thorong La Pass (5416 m).

As we open our eyes, the tranquil surroundings of this fascinating and sacred town enchant us. Muktinath is notable not only for its religious aspect but also for the exceptional view of Kali Gandaki and the high Passes.

Early in the morning, we will walk around in the temple and pass 108 holy springs to remove all our past sins. It is now time for us to depart to Tatopani after having our breakfast.

Getting on our motorbikes, we will head out to cross the Jhong Khola to reach Kagbeni. The barren terrain now begins to slowly transform as we journey forward to Jomsom.

We will then pass through the apple garden and capital town of Marpha- a good site to try some fresh apple brandy and pie. Now traversing the small but gorgeous Himalayan settlements of Tukuche, Lete, and Ghasa, we will finally arrive at Tatopani.

Please note that the ride from Jomsom to Tatopani is primarily a downhill ride of about 1000 m drop. So you have to be very attentive and careful, although the entire trail is easily manageable except for a few stretches where you may have to hop in our support jeep.

Once we settle in our lodge, we will enjoy free time and relax in the natural thermal pools with Nilgiri smiling upon us in front.

After eating our morning breakfast, we will now leave Tatopani and head towards Pokhara. But first, we will ride back a short distance and reach a bridge over Kali Gandaki.

The forward trail will now lead us past the eye-pleasing waterfall before we reach Tiplyang. One more bridge awaits our driving across as we proceed towards Baisari. Beni is around the corner to guide us back to Pokhara through Baglung along the smooth asphalted road.

Once in Pokhara, we will have some free time to walk along the Phewa lake shore with our companions or to go to a pub and explore the famous destinations.

Our lower Mustang motorbike tour is coming to an end. Once more, we will undertake the long journey back to Kathmandu today. Leaving Annapurna, Ganesh, and Fishtail behind, we will be greeted by the Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers for one last time.

The crowded Kathmandu street will arrive in the early evening, and the familiar comfort will help rest our fatiguing legs. Later, we will raise a generous glass of champagne and enjoy a delicious Nepali meal, reflecting on the remarkable experiences we have just shared.

A quick shopping trip should be on your list today before you leave for your home. We hope we have delivered the outstanding service you absolutely deserve. As a final gesture, our private transport will take you to TIA ahead of your scheduled departure. Our Lower Mustang Motorbike tour is over here.
