Ahlat Seljuk Tombs
The Ahlat Seljuk Tombs are situated in Bitlis Province. The tombs are known for their dimensions and designs. The cemetery covers an area of 210,000 square meters, which means that it is the 3rd largest Turkish-Islamic cemetery in the world and the largest one in Turkey. The cemetery has three main sections, which consist of the tombs "Sahideli Sandukali," "Sandukali," and "Akit." The site was used between the 12th and 16th centuries. It has been included in the Unesco World Heritage Tentative List.
