Akcaabat

Akcaabat, formerly called Polathave, is a district in Trabzon province in the Black Sea region. The region is known for its local meatball dish and horon (a traditional folk dance). In order, it was ruled by Miletos around 700 BC, the Kingdom of Pontus in the 2nd century BC, and the Empire of Trebizond in 1214. Since the 15th century, it has been a Turkish district. The region's tourist attractions include the hub, Tarakcioglu Mansion, Orta Mahalle Chapel, Sera Lake, Calcamili Natural Parks, Hidirnebi, Solma, Kadiralak Plateaus, and Cal Cave.
