Akhan Caravanserai

Akhan Caravanserai was built around 1253–1254 during the Mongol Invasion of Anatolia by Governor Vali Seyfettin Karasungur. According to the resources, Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Izzeddin Keykavus II, Governor Karasungur, and the leader of Denizli Turkmens Mehmet Bey, Malik Maurozomes, once used it as a state office. Plus, it is on the Unesco Cultural Heritage Tentative List, sampled as the Denizli-Doubeyazit caravan route. Today, it is a Seljuk period symbol, a breakpoint famous for its Denizli Kebabi, and a small, five-room hotel open for visitors.
