Anamur Museum

More than ten years after the ancient Anamorium site's excavations started, the Anamur Archeological Museum was founded. The cooperation of American and Canadian archaeologists led to the start of archaeological excavations at the historic site of Anamorium in 1960. The artifacts that were on display in the museums of the neighboring districts, like Silifke, were returned to Anamur when the museum there opened. Rare artifacts in the museum include necropolis finds from Kelenderis and Nagidos, mosaics from Anamorium from the fifth century AD, terracotta oil lamps, and an Athena statue from the Roman era.
