Andaval Archaeological Site

The Andaval Archaeological Site, also called Andabalis, Adualis, or Ambabalis, is situated in the center of Anatolia. It is known that the site served as a garrison during the late ancient period and was located on Istanbul-the Holy Land Way. Some resources mention that Helena, the mother of Constantine, built some churches on the site on her visit to the Holy Land, but the archeological digs have shown that they were built in later periods. The remains of the church and the interior paintings can be visited.
