Anzac Cove

Before WWI, the cove was known as Ariburnu, but on April 25, 1985, it was renamed "Ancaz Cove" in honor of the Anzac soldiers who died during the Gallipoli Campaign at the cove. Today, the district has a cemetery, and the annual Anzac Dawn Service has been held here for many years. At the entrance to the cove, the monument of Ataturk's letter written for the Anzac mother stands. During the months of March and April, the cove and the Gallipoli Peninsula attract both local and foreign visitors to commemorate the martyrs.
