Ardahan Castle

Despite recent research that has indicated that the castle was settled during the Bronze Age, there are no clues about who built the castle first. Hence, it has been considered that Seljuk built the castle, and in the 16th century, it was rebuilt by the Ottomans. It is located in the north of the city, in the Halil Efendi neighborhood. It shares architecturally similar features with the Rumeli Castle in Istanbul.
