Asclepeion

According to the legend, Asclepius used to have healing powers, even the ability to bring the dead back to life. Zeus, king of the gods of Mount Olympus, gets angry at him, for his methods and kills him. It won’t be wrong to say that Asclepius was the first worshipped hero in the ancient era. Other temples were erected for his name in Trikka (modern Trikala), Thessaly, and Greece; however, only Asclepieia in Kos can reach today. The resources, on the other hand, stated that Asclepius was using the methods of catharsis and dream therapy. In the catharsis stage, the patient purges by taking serious baths, and next, dream therapy come in which patients also discover what they need to do, and finally, a prescription is given to the patient based on their interpretation. Through the next ages, Asclepias became a home or a school for physicians, and Hippocrates is known to have received his medical training in Kos.
