Balatlar Church
Balatlar Church, also called Sinope Koimesis Church, is a 7th-century AD artifact located in the Ada neighborhood of Sinop Province. It has been considered that the church was built as a bath when it was built during the Roman period. It is also thought to have become a church between the 6th and 7th centuries. It later served as a granary between the 11th and 13th centuries. When Anatolia's Seljuks conquered the city, it was left to the local Christian people as a monastery. In 2010, some archeological digs have been made, and reliquary boxes, a chest thought to belong to Jesus, and frescoes about Jesus, Mary, and the apostles have been found.
