Ballikayalar Valley
Once, the bees used the rocks and caves to produce honey in the valley. The name Ballikaya (which means honey rock in Turkish) comes from this fact. Today, the region is the home of many creatures such as hawks, peregrine crows, hawks, nightingales, jackals, foxes, and rabbits; however, there are no bees or honeycomb around. The valley is popular trekking, rock climbing, picnic, and camping place. In the valley, there are two trekking routes with different degrees of difficulty, which take approximately 2 hours in length. You can see waterfalls and ponds on the trekking routes. Rock climbing, however, has different difficulty levels.
For rock climbing, you need to go to the region with your climbing equipment because there is no market, where you can shop for climbing tools in the valley. Not as challenging as Antalya Geyikbayiri's rock climbing track, Ballikayalar has its own popularity among Marmara territory climbers.
