Birecik Dam

Birecik Dam is located in Birecik town in Gaziantep Province, Turkey. It is one of the 21 dams which were built to meet the energy and water needs of the region. It has a 92.700 ha total catchment area and was designed by Coyne et Bellier. A part of Zeugma's ancient city remained under the dam lake, but most of the artifacts were rescued and can be visited in the Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep Province.
