Cakircali Village

Cakircali is a town in the Zile district of Tokat Province. It is approximately 65 km away from Tokat's downtown. According to the rumors, it was founded by Mustafa Kalender, who called it Ciriklar, later it changed into Cakircali. The village has a reputation for its Asiklik tradition, a type of Turkish literature consisting of poems sung to the accompaniment of a string instrument called the saz. Sah Hatayi, Katibî, Murtaza Kurt, Veli Abdal, and Revani are the well-known artists of the village. The culture of the village is being lived through the Cakircali Village Association's various of events held in Istanbul, Izmir, and Tokat.
