Cennet & Cehennem (Heaven – Hell) Caves

Cennet and Cehennem, which can be translated as "heaven" and "hell," are two great sinkholes that are located in the Silifke district of Mersin. The Cennet is a sizable sinkhole that was formed when a ceiling collapsed as a result of chemical erosion brought on by an underground stream. The elliptical rim has a diameter of 250 and 110 meters and a depth of 70 meters. A church that was built in the 5th century by a religious person named Paulus and dedicated to the Virgin Mary can be visited. Cehennem, on the other hand, was formed in the same way as Cennet, but its depth is about 110 m.
