Cesme

Cesme is located on the west coast of Izmir Province, on the Urla Peninsula. During the ancient period, it was one of the 12 Ion cities. It has been known that Cesme was founded by the Cretans; later, Lydians and Persians ruled it. Since the 11th century AD, it has been one of the Turkish districts. Cesme castle and museum, the caravanserai that was built by Suleiman the Magnificent, Dalyankoy, Ilica, Aya Haralambos church, Erythrai ancient city, and a dozen beaches can be seen in the district.
