Cesme Museum

The Cesme neighborhood of Izmir is home to the Cesme Museum. The Topkapi Museum in Istanbul's artifacts were brought there for display when it first opened in 1965. It is located in Cesme Castle, which Genoa originally constructed and the Ottomans later renovated. The museum was changed into an archeological museum in 1984. Artifacts from the ancient city of Cesme Erythrai, the prehistoric Baglararasi settlement, and the 1770 Ottoman-Russian naval conflict are all represented in the collection today.
