Ceyhan River

The Ceyhan River, called Pyramos in antiquity, is one of the most important rivers in Turkey. It is one of the largest rivers in the Mediterranean region, and with the Seyhan River, it is the main life source of Cukurova, the Cilician Plain. It rises from the Nurhak Mountains in the Kahramanmaras province and flows out to the Mediterranean Sea from the Gulf of Alexandretta. 11 dams take place on it.
