Darica Zoo

Darica Zoo, located in Bayramoglu, Darica, was founded in 1991 under the auspices of the Bird Paradise and Environmental Beautification Foundation to care for endangered animals and ensure the survival of their species. It was opened to the public in 1993 and increased its area of use to 165 thousand square meters. The number of animal species in the garden has increased to over 3000 and the number of plant species to over 500. The garden's application for membership in the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA) was accepted, and the garden was accepted as a member. Membership has provided them with an organic relationship with other gardens in the association, but Boaziçi Zoo was in danger of closing due to an income and expenditure deficit.
