Dark Church

The Dark Church is located in the Goreme Open Air Museum, and it is one of the most visited ones in the museum. It is an 11th- or 12th-century cave museum. The church's vibrant frescoes, which appear like they were just painted, are its defining feature. The church receives so little light from the narthex window on the roof that the frescoes have remained undamaged for centuries. It is probably the most special site in the region.
