Ertugrul Gazi Tomb
Ertugrul Gazi was the leader of the Kayi tribe, who were running from the Mongol conquests of Genghis Khan in Central Asia to Anatolia. His tomb is situated in the Sogut district in Bilecik Province today. It has been considered that the tomb was built around the end of the 13th century by Osman Gazi, his son and the founder of the Ottoman Empire. It was restored and enlarged by the Ottoman Sultans Mehmet I, Mustafa III, and Abdulhamit II. The tomb was built as a hexagonal plan, with a rectangular entrance and covered with a dome.
