Galata Mevlevi Lodge Museum

Galata Mevlevi Lodge is located in Istanbul's Taksim district, near Beyoglu. It was built by Iskender Pasha Mihaloglu, who was the sanjak bey of the Bosnian Sanjak in the 15th century. During the Ottoman period, it was the place where the Mevlevi Order held sema ceremonies, also known as Whirling Dervishes. The Sema Area, Lodges, Tomb of Sheikh Galip, and Tomb of Halet Efendi can be visited in the museum. Today, it is one of the most visited sights in Taksim.
