Gordion (Yassihoyuk) Ancient Site

Gordion (Yassihoyuk) was the capital of the Phrygian Kingdom, located in province where the Sakarya and Porsuk rivers converge in Ankara. In 1950, archeological digs were started, and the artifacts that were obtained from the region are on display in the Gordion Museum. The digs have shown that the site was a settlement throughout the ages Bronze, Iron, Phrygian, Hellenistic, and Roman period. At the same time, there is the house of the Phrygian kind of Midas, who has donkey ears and can transform everything she touches into gold.
