Grand Bazaar (Bursa)

During the time of Orhangazi, covered markets began to emerge by closing the gaps between inns with roofs, and the first form of the Covered Bazaar was thus created. Bursa Grand Bazaar is one of Ottoman period covered bazaar. It was damage by fire and earthquakes several times along centuries and rebuilted. Bursa Grand Bazaar was lastly fired in 1958 and fully rebuilt. today the Sahaflar, Akatarlar, Ivaz Pasha, Gelincik, Sipahiler, Karacabey (Yorgancilar, Sandikcilar) and old coppersmith bazaars were added to form the Covered Bazaar and it is one of the vibrand shopping center in the city.
