Iassos Balik Pazari Museum

Iassos Balik Pazari Museum is situated in the Milas district of Mugla Province in Turkey. It was discovered by Guidi in 1920 when he visited the city. Iassos, on the other hand, is an ancient city dating back to the third century BC. Locals, according to Strabo, left a recital as soon as they heard the bell signaling the opening of the fish market. Because the locals were living in a barren region, Strabo emphasizes the importance of fishing in their lives in this story. The Italian Archaeological Mission has been excavating since 1960, and the agora and bouleuterion have been unearthed as well. The Balik Pazari Museum was established after it was restored with Turkish-Italian cooperation.
