Incesu Caravansarai

Incesu Caravansarai is an Ottoman complex built in 1660 by the order of Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha in the Incesu district, which is on the route of the Silk Road. It has classical Ottoman architectural features, which means it is a rectangular-shaped building with a courtyard in the middle. The water needs were met by the aqueducts from the Incesu River, but in 1970 they were damaged by a flood. After recent restorations, the Caravansarai is open for visitors.
