Kamondo Stairs

The Kamondo Stairs, located in Istanbul's Galata district, are a beautiful example of art nouveau architecture that link Bankalar Street and Banker Street. Constructed in the 1850s, the stairs were named after Abraham Salomon Kamondo, a member of the influential Kamondo family and one of the most prominent bankers in the region. During that time, Banker Street was also known as Rue Camondo (Kamondo Street). It is now a popular tourist destination.
