Palace Museum / Hunting Lodge

Kasr-i Humayun (Hunting Lodge) is the hunting lodge of the Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz. It is situated in the city center of Kocaeli Province, next to the clock tower. It is one of the palaces that were built in the 19th century, during Abdulaziz's reign. Its architect is Amira Karabat Balyan, one of the Balyan brothers. It is a mixture of Neo-Classical and Euro-Baroque styles, and the ceiling decorations are the work of French painter Sason. Today, it is a palace museum.
