Kaymakamlar House Museum

The museum demonstrates 18th and 19th-century Turkish life, traditions, and way of living through opened for visits in the 1980s. The house which was converted into the museum belonged to military barracks commander Haci Mehmet Efendi, and the name "Kaymakamlar" (district governor) is a changed version of "Kaim-Makam," which means lieutenant colonel in Turkish. The house was expropriated by the Ministry of Culture and first used as an education center, then converted into the Kaymakamlar House Museum.
