Koycegiz

Koycegiz is Mugla’s district, and it dates back to 3400 BC. The resources stated that it was founded by the Carians and later ruled by Assyrians, Achaeans, Romans, and Turks. Also, it has been known that at around 2000 BC, Greeks and Achaeans were settled on the coast, and Koycegiz became a significant ancient port city in the region. Today the Kaunos ancient city, Harab and Susan castles, and the acropolis can be visited.
