Latifiye Mosque
Latifiye Mosque is one of the historical sites in Mardin, built in 1371 by Abdullatif bin Abdullah during the reign of Artuqid sultans Melik Salih and Melik Muzaffer. Later in 1845, Muhammed Ziya Tayyar Pasha, Egyptian Governor, built its minaret. However, the current minaret was built by the Governor of Mosul, Gurcu Mehmet Pasha, in 1845. The mosque is one of the last Artuqid buildings still standing, and the interior decoration has well-preserved Seljuk woodwork.
