Macau

Macau was a Portuguese colony before it was handed up to China in 1999. It has now become one of China's two special administrative regions. The Mediterranean presence can be seen everywhere because Portuguese traders began colonizing and ruling Macau in the 16th century, as a result the cuisine of Macau is hugely affected by its colonial history with both Portugal and China. Many Macau meals are categorized as fusion cuisine because they incorporate flavors from multiple cultures like as Europe, Latin America, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia, as well as natural delights.
