Maiden's Tower

Maiden’s Tower, also known as Leander's Tower was built first by the ancient Athenian general Alcibiades after the naval victory at Cyzicus for ships coming from the Black Sea, then In 1110 Byzantine Emperor Alexius Comnenus built a wooden wall around it and until the Ottoman period it guards and customs the Bosphorus with a chain. The tower gained its present form during the Ottoman period.

According to legend an emperor first builds it to protect his daughter from divination that was saying she will die at 18 years old however can't succeed.

Maiden's Tower is also the most well-known historical site that the movies The World Is Not Enough (1999), From Russia with Love (1963), Hitman (2007), and the game Assassin's Creed: Revelations had scenes around it.
