Mamure Castle

Mamure Castle was built in the 3rd century by the Romans to save merchant ships from pirates off the Mediterranean coastal city of Mersin. It is located in the Anamur district, approximately 3 hour's drive from the city center. The castle has three main courtyards, a mosque, a ruined Turkish bath, and a lighthouse that can be visited inside the walls.
