Manisa Alasehir Archaeological Site

The Alasehir Archaeological Site is located 110 kilometers west of Manisa's city center. During the reign of King Attalus II Philadelphus of Pergamon, it was a well-known city. The city was called "Little Athens" because of its numerous festivals and a multitude of temples. St. Jean Church, one of the seven churches mentioned in the Bible, is also located in Alasehir.
