Museum Of The History Of Science And Technology In Islam

The Museum of the History of Science and Technology in Islam was opened in 2008 through the efforts of Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin, an Islamic science historian. It is located in the Has Ahir (Istabl-i Amire) building near the palace. The exhibition area of the museum is 3,500 square meters and consists of 585 pieces of tools, device replicas, and models. It is the first History of Science and Technology museum in Turkey, and the second one in the world. The Elephant Clock invented by al-Jazari, the Islamic Period, astrolabes, world globes, measuring sets, a 6-piston pump, a door bolt with 4 bolts, the Perpetuum mobile by al-Biruni, and many more artifacts can be seen.
