Mykale Mountain

Mykale Mountain takes place on the Egean coast, mostly in the Aydin Province of Turkey. It is currently known as Samsun Mountain and Dilek Mountain and has an elevation of 1.237 meters. It was a part of the ancient Ionian civilizations, along with Priene and Miletus. Dilek Peninsula National Park has protected Mykale Mountain and the peninsula surrounding it was declared as Dilek Peninsula National Park in 1966. The Mycale Battle, one of the Greco-Persian Wars in 479 BC, occurred here.
