Odemis Museum

The Odemis Museum was founded in the Odemis district of Izmir. Mutahhar Basoglu, an antiquities collector and former mayor, made his first attempt to establish a museum in 1977 when he donated his land to the government. The construction was completed in 1983, and the artifacts that were revealed around the Kucuk Menderes basin, belong to the Hellenistic, Roman, Eastern Roman/Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods, are displayed in the halls. After an extensive restoration, it was reopened in 2015.
