Old Parliament Building in Bulgaria

The Old Parliament Building was built between 1884 and 1894, during the time when Bulgaria was still part of the Ottoman Empire. The building is in the Renaissance Revival architectural style and was designed by the Czech architect Karel Liman. After the liberation of Bulgaria in 1878, the country became an independent principality, and the building was initially used as a palace for the Prince of Bulgaria. After the country became a Kingdom, it was used as the parliament building until 1940. The building is now a national monument and it is open to the public, it currently houses the National Art Gallery.
