Phaselis
Phaselis is an ancient site that takes place on the foothills of the Bey Mountains and Olympos National Park. It was founded in 700 BC by the Rhodians, and quickly became one of the most significant harbors in ancient Lycia. When it was conquered by Alexander the Great, it was very rich. For centuries after Alexander the Great and the Romans, it was ruled by different civilizations and was harmed by pirates constantly. In the 11th century, the Seljuqs and later Ottomans ruled it. It has a reputation for its roses, and it has been known that the lance of Achilles was exhibited in the temple of Athene in the city. Today, it is one of the city's tourist attractions, and, like a few other ancient cities in the region, the ruins can be reached by boat too.
