Sabanci Merkez Mosque

The Sabanci Merkez Mosque rises on eight pillars carrying the main dome and is the symbol of the city. It was built in 1998 at the intersection point of the main arteries, railway lines, and roads in Adana Province. The interior and exterior decoration of the mosque is similar to that of the Selimiye Mosque, which is the masterpiece of Mimar Sinan and takes place in Edirne Province. On the other hand, its minarets are similar to another masterpiece, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque in Istanbul, also called the Blue Mosque. It was built with the partnership of the Turkish Religious Foundation and the Sabanci Foundation.
