Saratli Kirkgoz Underground City

The Saratli Kirkgoz Underground City is located in the Gulagac neighborhood, about 22 kilometers from the city center. Like the other underground cities in the region, Saratli Kirkgoz Underground City was built as a shelter for Eastern Christians who were fleeing Roman persecution. It has been considered that the underground city has seven floors, but recently, three of them can be visited. The unique feature of this underground city is that it has a ventilation shaft.
