Savasanlar Village

Savasanlar village, also called Sunken village, is located in the Halfeti district of Sanliurfa. The village was abandoned when the Bilecik Dam started to gather water. Today, the minaret of the mosque can be seen, and more than half of the village is underwater. The houses on the hillside are ruinous. The village can be visited by boat, and the boats continue to Rumkale, a fortress on the Euphrates. Also, the historical resources state that priesthood ceremonies were held in this village, and those who did not visit the village are thought to have not completed their training.
